Country Run May 6

Please register to run at the Country Run on Saturday, May 6!  This great community event supports the swim and dive team, as well as all the booster clubs at LHS that participate! We need athletes to register and choose SWIMMING, allowing our team to receive some of the raised funds!

We need SPONSORSHIPS! If you know of someone or a company that would like to sponsor the Country Run, please use this form:  Country_Run_Sponsorship_Form_2017

Our Swim/Dive team is going to be working the 1K Fun Run area, prior to the 5K race, so since the athletes (and parents?) will already be there, please sign up for this fun event and help our team in the process!
Here is the flyer:  Country Run Flyer-2017

Banquet and state t-shirts

Banquet is coming up on March 31!  Please use the evite invitation to get all details and RSVP (by March 22).  Remember, if ONLY your swimmer/diver is going, then please RSVP “1” and the athlete’s name.  Athletes are free, but we have to know they are coming so that we will have a meal for them. Here is the evite link to use: Banquet Evite

If your swimmer purchased a red state t-shirt, please remit $18 per shirt to the booster club.  There is a booster club folder at the front desk of LHS, or your athlete can give the check/cash to Stephanie Barker (treasurer).  Thank you!

Girls bring home the District GOLD again! & THANK YOU to parents!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers and divers on an amazing District meet! Girls team brought on the District Champion title for the 3rd consecutive year, and the Boys also brought home the runner up title as well – great job!  We are so proud of all of your hard work this season, and we look forward to cheering you on at Regionals on Feb. 3-4 at Frisco on our continued Road to State!!

Parents – my heartfelt THANK YOU for all of YOUR hard work and willingness to help in running our first district meet! We literally could not have done it without each and every one of you. Thank you for helping out. . . and please let us know if there is anything that we could do to make the meets run smoothly in the future. I think that it ran very well over all. . . and we were actually over-prepared in terms of # of volunteers, so we may not need as much help in the future! 🙂 Thanks again, and see you at the Feb. 9 Booster Club meeting (email with agenda will go out in a week or so).

Hello Swim family!
A lot is going on around Lovejoy Swim & Dive – so don’t miss out! New pictures are up from the Hebron invitational meet (Nov. 5), where we had a great showing! Pictures from National Letter of Intent Signing Day are up as well, for Emma Ream who committed to swim for the University of North Texas Swim team next fall.  See a few pictures from both below -the rest are on the smugmug account for our team (link on photos page) and password is the same (see a booster club member for the password if you don’t know it!)

SPIRIT WEAR order is already in! We will pass out at the Booster Club meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7PM in the Lecture Hall, and then send the remainder to school/practice on Friday.  Watch for it to come home- or be worn to the 6A TISCA meet on Friday for those who are going.

On December 7, the Booster Club is sponsoring a Team Dinner  prior to 5A TISCA – details to follow, but plan on about 6 PM.  We also would love for you to participate in the LLI “Give Back” donation day at Lovejoy HS – Nov. 28;  We will have a sign up link online later this week to work the donation time, but we would love to see everyone stop by with some food donations on the afternoon of the 28th!

Concessions – we will work the basketball concession stands! Please use the following link to sign up!  Basketball Concessions SIGN UP LINK

Leopard Friday Fun!

Thanks to all who helped out at Leopard Friday this year -the ducky races were a big hit again this year, and the addition of candy and glow-in-the-dark prizes made it even better! Thank you, parents and athletes, for helping to work the booth, as well as set up, bring supplies, and tear down the “racing lanes.”  We appreciate all of the work that each of you has done to help make our community time at Leopard Friday a success! Now if only we had a place to store the racing lanes/rain gutters and ducks till next year!??! 🙂

See you all at our Booster Club meeting on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7 PM in the Lecture hall.

Leopard Friday 10/14 – Duck races!

Everyone is invited to come to Leopard Friday and have fun at the Swim & Dive table at Leopard Friday from 5-7 pm in the outside courtyard area at Lovejoy HS.

Our booth will feature “Duck Races” – water “lanes” with rubber duckies that are air-propelled with a straw.  We had tons of tun last year, and this year we have added a candy or glow-in-the-dark “prize” at the end of each game!

Swimmers, divers, and parents/friends are encouraged to come by our booth, and WEAR SWIM/DIVE SPIRIT WEAR to increase awareness of our awesome program! Come by to play and see friends.  See you there!
