Results for 2017 Meet below/after general information):

The state meet is held in Austin, Texas, at the University of Texas Jamail Swim Center, approximately the third weekend in February.  The meet occurs on two days: prelims on Friday, and finals on Saturday.  5A and under schools compete together, and then 6A schools compete together; there is a morning and an afternoon session for each grouping, and the 5A/6A schools rotate AM/PM slot.  For the 2016-17 season, 5A schools will compete in the PM slot:

5A Prelims: Friday, Feb 17, 5:30 PM start

5A Finals: Saturday, Feb 18, 3:30 PM start

The swimmers that make state typically go together in a bus or Lovejoy vehicle, stay in a team hotel, and practice and compete as a team.  Parents and friends and teammates are encouraged to come and cheer on all state-level competitors, but the team will stay, practice, and travel together at all times.  In the past, a team and family dinner has been held when the meet allowed (PM slots don’t work as well for dinners.) The state meet is run by UIL, and costs are approximately $15per session, or $25 for both days- but prices may change.  Meet programs are substantial, and are offered at the meet for a charge of $10 or more dollars.  Meet shirts for state participants are for sale as well as swim attire/equipment at the UT Swim Store in the facility. Food is available for purchase.  Seating is in fold-down chairs in the large center, with jumbo-trons posting live results of the meet, as well as live video streaming of events as well as diving in the back diving well (behind the main pool.)
